Bistra Ilkova

Bistra Ilkova is Founder and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Investment intermediary Aval In JSC, city of Sofia, Bulgaria.
Bistra Ilkova is Master in Finance from the University of National and World Economy, city of Sofia (1981).
She has 38 years of professional experience in the financial sector – 16 years in the field of the bank system, occupying high managerial positions and 22 years in the non-bank financial sector (investment, insurance, pension insurance).
In 1994 Bistra Ilkova set up Investment intermediary Aval In JSC.

Bistra Ilkova was:
– Chairperson of the State Securities Commission (2002-2003);
– Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange – Sofia JSC (2003-2005);
– CEO of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange – Sofia JSC (2006-2010).
– Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Bulgarian Export Insurance Agency JSC (2004-2017).

Currently, she is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Zenit Investments Holding AD and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Zlaten Lev Capital EAD (Asset Management Company).

Ms. Ilkova is a M&A Corporate Finance in Europe representative for Bulgaria.

Bistra Ilkova is “Mrs. Economy 2006” for lifetime achievement in the non-banking financial field.

Under her management the Bulgarian Stock Exchange – Sofia JSC was awarded “Mr/Mrs. Economy 2007” Competition in the most prestigious category “Lifetime Achievement for the Development of the National Economy”.
